Summer School House Parent

Dean Close Summer School is a vibrant new programme offering international students an exciting blend of English lessons, activities, social events, and cultural excursions across a four‑week period. The programme runs for four weeks from July 8 – August 5 with international students typically joining for two weeks at a time (either July 8 to July 22 or July 22 to August 5).
We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and proactive House Parents to play a vital role in supporting our boarding students and ensuring they have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable summer experience.
As a Summer School House Parent, you will be the heart of the boarding community. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the day‑to‑day running of the boarding house, especially during evenings and overnight
- Conducting evening roll calls and communicating important notices in line with safeguarding procedures
- Acting as the first point of contact for students’ welfare, pastoral concerns, and general support needs
- Keeping accurate records, including daily handover logs and medication oversight
- Supporting the programme by joining excursions and evening
- Helping welcome students on arrival days and ensuring they settle comfortably into boarding life
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and conduct at all times
