Clinical Healthcare Support Worker, Band 3- Pre Assessment Clinic

Job summary
You will be working as part of the Surgical Pre-assessment team. Patients' fitness is assessed prior to a variety of surgical procedures. To work in a clinical environment and provide a high standard of patient care, able to assess both major and day surgery patients prior to undergoing elective surgery either under local or general anaesthesia. Utilising skill such as venepuncture and accurately recording basic observations and 12 lead ECGs in a busy clinic. Working along side the clinical Nurse to ensure the right tests are carried out. To liaise with the MDT, to ensure a positive patient experience and optimal surgical outcome.

Main duties of the job
To support the running of a clinic and carry out tests and procedures to investigate patients suitability for surgery.
Ability to work on own initiative, independently and as part of a team.
Personally resilient and able to manage complexity and work in an ambiguous or changing environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills verbally, in writing and the use of IT.
Managing stock and resources within the department.
To be able to carry out tests such as venepuncture, ECGs and standard observations.
