Experienced Practice Accounts Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and proactive accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience working in an accounting practice and enjoys a variety of tasks. You do not need to be a fully qualified accountant, just be able to get involved in all aspects of accounting and be an integral part of delivering high-quality service to our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Completing bookkeeping and VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
• Preparing annual accounts for a diverse range of clients
• Assisting with personal tax returns
• Confidently contacting clients to resolve queries
• Ensuring all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulations

• Proven experience working in an accounting practice
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT returns, and personal tax
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and efficiently
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on attitude
