Finance Assistant - Part Time
Cheltenham

Along with a rich heritage in history publishing, we seek to inform, entertain and champion untold stories and hidden voices across a variety of genres, such as memoir, entertainment, travel, true crime and many more.
Our passionate, friendly team brings a wealth of professionalism to all we do, and we’re dedicated to working with writers to bring quality non-fiction to life.
We are currently looking for a part-time Finance Assistant to join our busy finance team working in all aspects of the business’s accounting activities. We offer flexible benefits and potential for hybrid working.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
- Operating the payroll and administrating company pension schemes
- Managing weekly payment runs
- Bank processing and reconciliation
- Assisting with royalty processing and responding to author queries
- Processing employee expenses
- Assisting with management of fixed assets
- Preparing VAT returns
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
Skills / Qualifications:
- Part qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA desirable, but will consider those without formal qualifications
- Good Excel skills essential
- Proficiency in using accounting software (we use Xero)
- Proactive individual with the ability to work independently
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible and friendly approach
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in an accounts environment
