About the Role
As our Finance Officer, you will be at the heart of our financial operations. You’ll manage day‑to‑day finance processes, produce reports that inform senior decision‑making, support payroll and budgeting, and help make sure our resources are used wisely and efficiently.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety, is proactive in finding better ways of working, and takes pride in accuracy and reliability. You’ll also line‑manage our Finance Assistant and contribute to building a positive, solutions‑focused finance team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keeping our financial records accurate, compliant, and up to date
- Managing transactions, reconciliations, and reporting through Xero
- Supporting payroll and pension administration
- Helping forecast salaries and monitor budgets
- Preparing financial reports for senior leaders and trustees
- Ensuring smooth audits and strong internal controls
- Managing banking, payment runs, petty cash, and investments
- Maintaining the organisation’s asset register
- Leading and developing the Finance Assistant
- Driving continuous improvement across finance processes

The post holder will be based primarily at our Gardners Lane Centre but will be required to work at any of the Children and Family Centres operated by the Aspire Foundation across the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury area.
