Personal Assistant (Carer) - Part Time
Cheltenham
My situation
I am a 34 year old woman living in the centre of Cheltenham and working part-time. I have a physical disability and am looking for a Personal Assistant on a long-term basis for two 3-hour shifts per
week, on either an employed or self-employed basis.
Duties
The main tasks I need assistance with are:
- Preparing and cooking food (this could be anything from preparing vegetables to batch-cooking meals for me to freeze)
- Preparing dog food
- Washing my hair while I'm in the shower
I have a cavapoo who is very friendly and excitable although anxious, and can be barky at times.
Shifts and hours available:
- Monday evening: 5.30pm-8.30pm
- Thursday evening: 5.30pm-8.30pm
Applicants must be able to do both shifts.
There may be the occasional additional shift to drive me somewhere and either accompany me when I'm there or wait for me. However, this is not essential and not being able to do this will not affect applicants being considered for the role.

- Ability to take direction and use own initiative
- Friendly with a positive attitude
- Flexible around my routine
- Ability to think creatively about different ways of doingthings
- Must be female*
*Genuine occupational exception to Sex Discrimination Act (1977) - Section 7 (2b)
The successful applicant must have an enhanced DBS check and be subscribed to the Update Service, or must undergo a DBS check upon accepting the post.
