Science Technician - Physics

Cheltenham

Two opportunities available to work a minimum of 16 hours and up to 40 hours per week, term-time plus (working 37 weeks per year).

Salary: Up to £23,898pa including holiday pay (based on 15.55% of annual salary) for 40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year (FTE salary: up to £29,067pa). Starting salary dependent on hours worked, skills, qualifications and experience.

We have an exciting opportunity for well-qualified and experienced Science Technicians to join our Physics department. Candidates must have previous experience of working within a scientific laboratory and possess a suitable qualification.

In this key role you will supervise and organise practical provisions for Physics lessons across years 7 to 13 (including A Level and IB) and contribute to the safe and efficient running of the prep room, with related duties outside of term time.

The team, comprising 8 specialist Physics teachers and two dedicated technicians is both friendly and professional and all share a deep commitment to supporting excellent teaching and learning. The department is thriving and extremely well resourced. Around 40 students study Physics at A Level or IB each year, as well as over 100 studying Physics at GCSE.
