Job summary

Dermatology Cancer Navigator, Band 3 (20 hours a week)

This role will be a crucial part of the Dermatology Cancer team. The navigator will help with the essential steps in the Dermatology cancer pathway to enable swift progression through the pathway for patients with suspected skin cancer.

The role requires someone with exceptional organisational skills and who can demonstrate great communication and interpersonal skills. A caring and sensitive attitude is essential as contact with patients; their families and carers are expected.

This role will be based in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The proposed interview date is: 16th August

Main duties of the job

To be key member of the Dermatology team and work well in a team but able to work autonomously.

To carry out all administrative and clerical duties within the department in an efficient and confidential manner.

Keep a record of all skin cancer surgery and ensure relevant results are available for clinicians.

Office and administrative support for the consultants and nursing staff. To be confident in suggesting improvements or additions to better serve our patient-focused service.

Make follow up appointments in dermatology clinics post MDT as requested and liaise with staff re outpatient appointments.

To liaise with other Trusts and develop links with other Trusts to exchange information.

The post holder must always respect patient confidentiality and in particular the confidentiality of electronically stored personal data in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

The post holder is an ambassador for the directorate and the Trust. Their actions and conduct will be judged by customers as an indication of the quality of the service provided by the directorate and Trust as a whole.

Abide by all Statutory and Trust policies and procedures.

Attend mandatory training courses as identified through supervision and individual performance review.
