Neonatal Stores Administrator, Band 3 (20 hours a week)
Gloucester Neonatal Unit for a highly organised and motivatedNeonatal Stores Administrator to join our dedicated Neonatal Unit, Transitional Care and Outreach Service team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This important role supports the smooth day-to-day operation of our neonatal services by ensuring that essential equipment, medical supplies and consumables are available, maintained and managed effectively. Working closely with clinical teams, procurement services, medical engineering departments and external suppliers, you will play a key part in helping us deliver safe, high-quality care to newborn babies and their families.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock levels, ordering equipment and supplies, coordinating maintenance and servicing of medical devices, and providing administrative support across the service. You will also contribute to service improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities for greater efficiency and value for money.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with administration, stores, procurement or healthcare support experience who has strong organisational skills, good IT knowledge and the ability to work independently while building effective working relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for ordering equipment and supplies for the neonatal unit through P2P and the Women's & Children's Specialty Procurement Team, ensuring stock levels are maintained and resources used effectively. Works with the Stores Lead and Ward Managers to identify cost-saving opportunities and support efficient use of equipment, consumables and services.
Acts as the main liaison with Medical Engineering, ensuring equipment is maintained, serviced and safe, reporting faults and supporting investigations into Medical Device Alerts. Ensures relevant information is shared with key stakeholders.
Oversees the storage, cleaning, monitoring and decommissioning of equipment in line with Trust policies. Supports procurement and equipment replacement programmes, working with Procurement, Materials Management and the Trust Equipment Lead to meet clinical, operational and financial requirements.
Liaises with Gloucester Managed Services (GMS) regarding maintenance, infrastructure projects and unit developments, and supports charitable donors in identifying equipment and service improvement opportunities.
Works closely with the Women's & Children's Specialty Procurement Team to ensure effective stores management and the smooth operation of the neonatal unit, while contributing to service improvement, quality initiatives and financial sustainability.
