Receptionist - Churchdown Parish Council

Churchdown Parish Council are currently seeking a Receptionist to join their small friendly team that supports the Councillors in the day to day running of the Parish. Churchdown Parish Council provides a range of services within the Parish including parks, play areas, sports facilities, a Burial Ground, allotments, gardens, a nature reserve and a community orchard. Other responsibilities of the Council include commenting on planning applications, responding to consultations, monitoring local services and engaging with residents and local organisations to improve community life.
We are looking for someone with good customer service and office skills who enjoys helping people and being part of a community – this is a very rewarding role where each day offers something different.
The following aptitudes would be advantageous but not essential:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Hands on experience with office equipment (i.e. photocopiers and printers)
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to be proactive when issues arise
- Multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Dependable
- A local knowledge of Churchdown would be desirable
Main duties include greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, managing incoming enquiries and general administration tasks. You will also be expected to perform any other job-related tasks as assigned by the Clerk or Deputy Clerk.
This is a part time job-share role consisting of 9 - 12 hours per week working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Dependent on number of hours worked there could be some flexibility between 9am and 1pm).
