Experienced Bar Staff
Longlevens Rugby Club
We’re looking for a shift lead to join our bar team.
Longlevens RFC have been established since 1954 and we have a large team membership, from mini’s to strollers, including a new women's mixed ability team. We provide match teas for all our home games as well as supporters lunches prior to the 1st team home games. As well as rugby, we engage with the community by running various events throughout the year that all are welcome to, including a Fireworks display in November. We hope to do more this year including pub quizzes, games nights and more and we need someone to join us and help us drive forward.
As a shift lead, you will take charge of your shift and be responsible for the staff and customers on site at the time.
Responsibilities include:
Running the bar for your shift, including changing barrels, re-stocking, instructing other members of the team to ensure all tasks are completed in line with compliance, completing any paperwork required, handling petty cash, replenishing change when needed, cashing up and overseeing open and close procedures are followed.
- Overseeing kitchen staff on shift
- Communicating any specific requirements or staff updates to those on shift
- Ensure the smooth running of match days and events
- Look ahead to next shifts to prepare for any upcoming events
- Know and follow all club procedures
- Ensure Kitchen meets Health & Hygiene standards while on shift
Handle any issues arising during shifts using own initiative and our emergency contacts list. This could include electrical or plumbing faults, till issues or line issues
- Handle any customer queries or complaints
- Provide clear handover notes/messages/communications to Bar Manager and next shift
- Assist with staff training when needed
- Alerting the manager of any issues that happened during a shift and of any low stock levels
Attributes
- A forward thinking, driven person with excellent communication skills with both staff and customers
- Prior experience working in a bar and as a team leader
- Someone that shows initiative in problem solving on a busy shift
- Ability and willingness to work in the kitchen is a bonus
Hours
Minimum 10 hours a week and must be able to work evenings and weekends. This could start as a set shift pattern to fit around current staff with the ability to pick up extra shifts as they come up.
