We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Dog Groomer to join our team and contribute to both our educational programmes and commercial grooming operations. This part-time role is well suited to professionals who wish to remain active in the industry or balance other employment alongside a teaching position.
This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise and enthusiasm by teaching, mentoring, and supporting learners as they work towards becoming qualified and capable dog grooming professionals in the industry.
Applicants should hold a minimum of a Level 2 City & Guilds Dog Grooming qualification and be committed to further study to become a qualified lecturer. About the Role
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching across both practical and theoretical elements of City & Guilds level 2 dog grooming qualification.
- Design and implement a varied and inclusive curriculum aligned with City & Guilds. Assess and grade learners' practical performance in accordance with curriculum standards and awarding body requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised learning environment, including undertaking housekeeping tasks such as laundry and routine equipment maintenance.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients by scheduling grooming appointments and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and care are upheld at all times.
- Carry out a range of administrative tasks to support both teaching and operational activities.
About You
- You will be qualified to a minimum C&G Level 2 in Dog Grooming and have previous experience and confidence with a variety of dog breeds.
- Knowledge or experience in relation to aspects of teaching, training, assessing, mentoring or coaching others.
- You will be able to work methodically and accurately, whilst maintaining a professional and customer focused approach to all aspects of the role.
- You will demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a busy team environment and communicate with all levels of staff, students and industry partners in a confident and knowledgeable manner.
