About the Role
- Support educational and commercial activity within the equine yard, overseeing practical tasks relating to the day to day running of the Equine Centre, reporting to the Yard Manager
- Prioritise a positive quality of life within the horse population, embedding Hartpury horse welfare guidelines in everyday activity within the yard and be responsible for the daily welfare and performance of the horses, ensuring outstanding care and attention
- Oversee student liveries to ensure that they get the best support contributing to an outstanding student livery experience. Including timely communication before arrivals and supporting with queries
- During the academic term you will help to coordinate the care of the full liveries alongside the Yard Manager
- You will work closely with the Equine Livery Administrator to help facilitate the student liveries
- During the academic term you will ensure the academic facing yard based activity is of the highest standards, including oversight of the loan horses, student duties and the student livery experience
- Out of term time, Hartpury host a number of National and International shows where you will provide a high level of customer service within the Equine Centre as directed.
- Responsible for all record keeping in relation to the effective running of the Equine Centre including student livery and line management of the student Barn Mentors
- Support student groups in practical learning activities, ensuring educational aims are achieved, and that safety and industry standards are met
About You
- Proven practical skills underpinned by experience of working in the Equestrian industry.
- You hold relevant British Horse Society qualification
- Highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills who is able to provide a high standard of customer service and positively motivate others
- The ability to relate to and influence others combined with strong communication skills
- Previous experience of managing others, maintaining positive relationships across a range of stakeholders
- Have good administration skills which are underpinned by outstanding standards of horse care
- Open to considering evolving methods of equestrian practice, which are evidenced based and support positive horse welfare
