Trainee Engineer

Cheltenham, Bristol

TVM Cheltenham Ltd is a growing family business based in Cheltenham and Bristol. We supply and maintain a range of mobility equipment to help clients stay independent for longer in their own homes.

Our mission is to provide the best equipment and service we can, to support individuals, families, and the community. With extensive experience in the field, we are specialists in the provision of hoisting systems (ceiling track.) Alongside growth in this area, our stairlift and large lift operations are rapidly expanding. As the business continues to develop, we are looking to recruit a trainee engineer to join our team.

The company operates within a clearly defined area, to provide the highest level of service. Most of our clients are currently based within Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath and NE Somerset. Standard working hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm. In addition, you will be required to work overtime as necessary. Once trained, you will be required to participate in the company out of hours scheme, covering evenings and weekends on call, on a rota system.

Suitable candidates should display:

• An electro-mechanical aptitude and enjoyment of fault finding.
• A work ethic and values which closely match those of the company.
• A flexible approach, together with a willingness to share experience and to learn.

Initially, the successful applicant will work alongside other team members to gain confidence and experience across a range of equipment.

Duties of the role will include assisting with:

• routine servicing
• installations
• repairs
• load testing of hoisting equipment

The range of equipment covered will include ceiling track hoists, straight and curved stairlifts, through floor lifts / home lifts and ramping systems.

To undertake the work, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and should also be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check which will be organised by the company.
Summary of the role:

• Full-time, Permanent.
• Start salary - £27,500pa
• Standard hours – 40 hours per week.
• Start date – as soon as possible.
• Location – Yate, South Gloucestershire.
