Trainee Sanding Operator

We are an established bespoke furniture manufacturer based in Cheltenham. Due to
expansion and growth, we are looking for a full-time trainee Sanding Operator who can
demonstrate willingness to learn a new skill and be able to work in a busy wood-working
factory environment. The job will require learning all functions of furniture sanding
preparation and associated tasks:

The job will require:

• Reporting to the Spray Shop Supervisor
• Use of compressed air-operated oscillating sanding equipment
• Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping to reduce dust hazards including the emptying and cleaning of residue from plant and equipment
• Maintaining all Sanding Booth equipment
• Manual handling (of furniture)
• Some manual hand sanding
• Performing all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations, including the wearing of PPE supplied by the Company comprising safety footwear, glasses, gloves and air filter RPE

Experience:

• Some experience of tools and woodworking would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate
