Are you an experienced Buyer with a passion for strategic supplier management? Our client is seeking a talented Buyer to join their team and play a pivotal role in the procurement of Aluminium (Extrusions) for their global operations. Our client is based in Filton.
As the Buyer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the Aluminium ConBid process, ensuring the company's demand is met efficiently and cost-effectively. You will also lead key projects within the Commodity Strategy Group (CSG), contributing to the deployment of the company's procurement strategy and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage strategic Aluminium (Extrusions) suppliers, ensuring they deliver on time, cost, and quality targets
- Contribute to the deployment of the company's commodity strategy, using market intelligence to support decision-making
- Lead supplier selection and negotiation processes, including call for tenders, contract negotiations, and supplier reviews
- Ensure the company's Enablement and ConBid processes are effectively managed, optimising demand allocation and identifying potential contractual breaches
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably in the Aluminium or manufacturing industry
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and report on MFT projects
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management capabilities, with a track record of building successful supplier relationships
- Proficient in data analysis and financial management, with the ability to manage an operating budget of approximately $50 million
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
