Young Persons Support Worker
Gloucestershire
ProCare Services core business hours are Monday-Friday mornings, evenings & on weekends we operate from 8am-8pm.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager
Who are ProCare?
ProCare Services is a care providing business that supports SEN young people in their homes or within the community to access a safe environment, build confidence and hit targets during life skill sessions. We will also be operating from our new venture The ProCare Centre, this will be a base for children who may require support on weekends/half terms. Our aim is to ensure all children have a safe space which they are able to access.
We are seeking dedicated individuals to make a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs. As a young person’s support worker, you’ll play a crucial role in providing personalized care, fostering inclusivity, and promoting growth.
Responsibilities
- Support children with diverse needs.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Promote person centred care and support based on the individuals needs.
- Assist children in their daily routines including hygiene, meals, and activities.
- Maintain open and effective communication with children, families, and team members.
- Planning/organising activities for young people.
- Maintain effective communication with parents/guardians.
Requirements
- To be compassionate and empathic towards children’s individual challenges.
- Have a willingness to learn and adapt to individual needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An understanding of youth development, diverse needs and social issues affecting young people.
- Experience working with children is desirable although full training will be provided.
- An understanding of safeguarding practices.

Expected start date: 09/03/2024
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
Day range: Mornings, Evenings, Weekends & Half Terms
Physical setting: Day centre, Domiciliary
Shift: Mornings, Day shifts, evenings and Weekends
Education: GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience: Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (preferred)
Ability to Commute: Cheltenham (required)
Ability to Relocate: Cheltenham: Relocate before starting work (required)
Work Location: In person
