Registered Manager - RM

Cheltenham

Job Summary
You are employed to assist in the provision of a high-quality service that enables the people you work with to develop an independent and individual lifestyle using a person-centred approach. You are required to work in accordance with the stated Policies, Philosophy, Aims and Objectives of Aim Up which are included in the Policy and Procedures handbook. It is your responsibility to ensure that you read, understand, and fully comply with these policies before carrying out any tasks.

We aim to involve the people that we support in all areas and provide them with as normal a life as possible regardless of their disability.

We recognise that the Manager’s role can be demanding and stressful at times and it is essential that you can maintain a positive attitude and provide a good role model at all times. You will receive client specific training, which may include for example Autism or Positive Behaviour Management, relevant to the individual or group you will be responsible for, and you will have or be working towards QCF Level 5/NVQ Level 4 or equivalent. This will help develop your ability to think fast and act quickly and appropriately with each person. In return we offer excellent support, which includes a high level of supervision from both your line Manager and immediate peers.

1. Care and Support – to ensure that individual’s needs, and aspirations are met as far as possible and that services are delivered in line with current legislation and best practice.

2. Manage Staff – To always ensure adequate staffing levels and to ensure that staff are supported and developed to fulfil the requirements of their roles.

3. Service Management – To ensure that the service is managed in a professional way that enables Aim Up to satisfy the needs of tenants, their families, regulatory bodies, directors, staff and other professionals and the wider community.

In order to achieve this, you will have the following responsibilities:

Care and Support


1.1. Assess and select individuals to provide a Home Care and Support service to

1.2. Monitor the needs of individuals on a regular basis and where necessary liaise with other professionals to find suitable additional services or alternative accommodation when this is indicated.

1.3. Ensure that individual plans are developed, monitored, and reviewed with each person using person centred approaches and relevant mechanisms as necessary. Update information as required to ensure best possible outcomes for the individual.

1.4. Work with colleagues, other agencies, and the wider community to bring about opportunities, experiences and activities that promote the independence, social inclusion, and choice of the person.

1.5. Develop, monitor and maintain professional and caring relationships with people who use the services and promote appropriate relationships with others.

1.6. Ensure a safe and secure environment, which protects individuals, staff, visitors, and their property.

1.7. Ensure that health is monitored, and any necessary steps are taken to provide effective physical, social and emotional environments.

1.8. Ensure that individuals and groups are supported appropriately when experiencing significant life events.

Manage Staff

2.1 Be responsible for the selection, recruitment, and induction of staff.

2.2 Ensure that individual staff are supported and receive training and development in line with any individual needs and the needs of Aim Up

2.3 Ensure that staff are working towards and promoting the philosophy of Aim Up

2.4 Ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, and practices are developed, and that staff understand and follow them.

2.5 Support and develop team working through effective and fair allocation of tasks, support of team members and regular team meetings.

2.6 Ensure sufficient staff cover at all times through efficient rostering.

2.7 Ensure continuing self-development to meet the needs of the Aim Up

2.8 Develop constructive professional relationships with colleagues i.e., other managers within the Charity.

Service Management

3.1 Effectively manage the use of the financial resources for the services.

3.2 Develop the Business Plan and take responsibility for relevant business performance.

3.3 Ensure the rights and responsibilities of individuals are understood and supported appropriately.

3.4 Participate in discussions and meetings that relate to the future of the Charity as a whole.

3.5 Promote the interests of people who are using community services.

3.6 Implement quality improvements and comply with quality requirements.

3.7 Ensure effective communication within the services and where appropriate throughout the Charity.

3.8 Ensure that the services meet the requirements of CQC, the Local Authority and any other relevant bodies as required.

3.9 Ensure that records are maintained as required by the Charity and prepare any reports as required.

Salary: £39,000 to £42,000 dependant on experience
