Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership and keeping everything running smoothly?

We are looking for a practical and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at Ellenborough Park Hotel in Cheltenham.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are quite the same. From responding to an urgent repair in a guest bedroom to maintaining essential hotel equipment and supporting preventative maintenance, you'll play an important part in ensuring our hotel remains safe, comfortable and beautifully maintained for our guests and team members.

Working closely with our Maintenance Manager, you'll also help support the day-to-day running of the department, work with external contractors and provide guidance to other members of the maintenance team.

What you'll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Responding quickly and effectively to urgent maintenance issues and breakdowns, particularly those affecting our guests and hotel operations.
• Supporting the Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day running of the department and stepping up when required.
• Helping to ensure hotel plant, heating, boilers, air conditioning and other building systems remain in good working order.
• Liaising with service engineers, external contractors and other hotel departments to coordinate repairs and scheduled servicing.
• Completing required Health & Safety, fire safety and compliance checks, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
• Monitoring maintenance stock and arranging replenishment when required.
• Supporting the training and development of maintenance team members and helping to continually improve the service we provide.

What we're looking for

You don't need to be an expert in every area of hotel maintenance. We're looking for someone with strong general maintenance skills, a practical approach and the confidence to find solutions when problems arise.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, property or similar hands-on role. Hotel or hospitality experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Good general maintenance and repair skills.
• A practical understanding of building services such as heating, boilers, air conditioning or electrical systems. Specialist knowledge across all areas is not required.
• A good understanding of the importance of Health & Safety and compliance.
• The ability to prioritise effectively and remain calm when responding to urgent maintenance issues.
• A reliable, organised and solution-focused approach.
• The ability to work independently while also being a supportive member of the wider hotel team.
• The confidence to support, guide and develop other members of the maintenance team.
• Most importantly, you'll take pride in your work and understand how well-maintained facilities contribute to an exceptional guest experience.
