Job description
Are you someone who would like to use your gardening skills to help maintain the beautiful, landscaped grounds at National Star? Join our team as a site services assistant, with special responsibility for our gardens and grounds.

We’re expecting that you’ll have a keen interest in gardening and enjoy working outdoors (in all weathers!) on your own and as part of a team.

You will:

maintain seasonal borders and shrub beds
cut and trim lawns and grass areas
maintain all grounds, leisure areas and farmland ensuring all areas are tidy and presentable including the glamping site and car parks
support the greenkeeper to repair any damage to the golf course caused by animals as well as sweeping away leaves, debris and fallen branches
prune shrubs and small trees
continue to learn about different types of plants, seasonal planting and pruning regimes, pest and disease identification and treatments and plant propagation
keep all gardening equipment and machinery clean and properly maintained

As well as your core garden and ground maintenance responsibilities you will also have the opportunity to broaden your skills as part of our site services team helping with small works including planned maintenance projects. You may also be asked to help with general portering duties including furniture moving /office relocation as required

You’ll need to be flexible in terms of working hours as you may need to work an occasional shift at weekends and provide extra support for special events and winter snow clearance.

Although predominantly based at Ullenwood there may be times when you will need to travel to our other sites in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Wales, driving company vehicles on occasions.

Interviews will be held during the course of the advertisement – please apply early as we may close the vacancy if a suitable applicant is appointed.
