This is a temporary, full time vacancy that will close in 25 days at 23:59 BST.
The Vacancy
The Dean Close Foundation are looking to appoint a new Carpenter to join our Maintenance Team. This role is 40 hours per week and is a fixed term contract for a year.
The purpose of this role is to undertake repairs and maintenance tasks across all Dean Close Foundation sites. Dean Close School is a thriving independent, co-educational day and boarding school set on a beautiful 50-acre site on the edge of Cheltenham.
The successful candidate will have good cross trade knowledge and be able to work independently across a wide range of duties to provide timely repairs and maintenance within a safe working environment.
Other roles and responsibilities include:
- Carry out repairs or replacements to fire doors, sash windows, service doors and window locks, to include setting codes.
- Construct, repair & install building frameworks and other fixtures and fittings.
- Assist with projects which require carpentry input.
- Assess jobs, obtain quotes for materials for delivery.
- Create the design or specification for carpentry work themselves.
- To discuss and plan with appropriate departments to carry out tasks.
