Lead Youth Worker(s)
Stroud
Our popular neighbourhood youth club thrives on the contributions of skilled staff. We want to hear from people who understand the ethos of youth work and would like to work for a community-supported youth project, and help it develop.
We are looking for Lead Youth Worker(s) to plan and lead all, or a share of, 30 sessions Sept 2024-August 2025.
Working at Rodborough Youth you will help young people in our area (Year 6-9) connect socially, through fun indoor and outdoor activities and trips, and through making their voices heard in their community. You will plan and run a programme of sessions at Rodborough Community Hall / field, teaming-up with volunteers and specialists as needed. At the moment we run on about five evenings per term (planned as three blocks of 10 sessions).
Must be able to work regular Friday evenings, 6/6.30-9/9.30pm, (but not every Friday).
You will receive full induction from current team already in place.
You must have capacity for 2hrs+ work between sessions, per session, and for occasional weekend work.
Minimum committment is to oversee one block of ten sessions.
Work includes communications, building relationships, record-keeping, organising staffing, volunteers and resources. Support from skilled, approachable voluntary committee.
First Aid and Safeguarding training, and strong communication and group supervision skills preferred.
Professional, creative, inclusive approach is needed.
Hours Per Week: Basic 5 hrs per session in term-time, plus some extra project work hours possible for candidate with suitable capacity.
