Deputy Baby Room Lead

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Practitioner to join our Quays team and work with us as a full time Deputy Room Lead in our baby room. This role is pivotal in supporting the leadership of our childcare programme, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role comes with the added responsibility of leading the room with support on a part time basis.

The ideal candidate will have at least a Level 3 relevant qualification, a passion and strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children.

Your ability to communicate effectively with both children and parents and manage children's needs will be essential in fostering their development and well-being.

This is a full-time, permanent role, and consists of 41 ¼ hours per week on a Rota basis (between the hours of 7.30 a.m. – 6.00 pm for 52 weeks of the year (nursery closes for 1 week at Christmas & all bank holidays).

Duties

 Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging activities that promote children's development and learning.
 Supervise and manage groups of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
 Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
 Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the nursery, encouraging children to express themselves.
 Collaborate with the Lead Leader to maintain high standards of care and education.
 Support the administration of daily operations, including record-keeping and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Experience

 Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.
 Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare is essential.
 Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups effectively.
 Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to facilitate clear communication.
 A genuine passion for childcare and the development of young children is essential.
