Level 3 Play Practitioner
Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Due to an increased demand for places, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Play Practitioner with a Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualification to join our pre-school team.
The role will commence in June 2024 and will be for approximately 40 hours per week, term-time only, with the possibility of additional flexible hours if required. Rate of pay is £12.50 per hour, with half pay in the school holidays. Candidates who are invited for interview will also be invited to a stay and play session.
We are looking for;
- Someone with a recognised Level 3 childcare qualification
- Experience of working in an early years environment
- A good knowledge of the EYFS
- A person who enjoys supporting and understands the importance of children’s learning and development through a variety of play-based activities.
- You will be able to provide a fun, stimulating and safe environment for a child to learn and grow
Certificates in child protection and first aid will be required, but could be obtained during the probation period if necessary. A clear enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate before they commence the role.
Job responsibilities include:
- Having a group of Key children and taking responsibility for their record keeping
- Carrying out observations, planning and assessments
- Preparing and carrying out activities to challenge and support the children’s learning and development
- Undertaking certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snack, meals and cleansing of equipment within in the pre-school
- Ability to communicate effectively within the staff team
- Liaising with and supporting parents/carers
