Teaching Assistant SEN - Academic term time

Hartpury, Gloucestershire

Our thriving SEN facilities, Hartmore School (GL19) and Hartmore Genesis School in Rudford (GL2) are both in need of additional Teaching Assistants.

Are you are a kind and caring individual who wants to join an amazing team working together to support children in a small and friendly SEN educational setting?

Hartmore Education are looking for the right candidates to join us in using a calm, therapeutic approach to help our pupils to build positive relationships, enjoy education and make a real difference to their lives.

A really understanding and friendly person, with a genuine wish to help children secure brighter futures, is of more importance to us than having previous experience or the ‘right qualification’. We welcome applications from all levels of practice in the SEN education sector. You should be communicative, emotionally resilient and have a positive demeanour to support both Teachers and learners.

We currently have two separate provisions with plans to open a third in the near future to meet demand. Hartmore School is a Specialist Independent Day school offering 32 placements (primary and secondary) and Hartmore Genesis offers 16 places for teenage girls. We are always fully subscribed and achieve excellent outcomes for our pupils. We are invested in every individual within the Hartmore team, both students and staff alike.

The Salary on offer is £12,413.00-£14,353.00 per year for working term time only, 30 hours a week, 39 weeks a year.  This is equivalent to a full time salary £21,575 entry level to £24,948 higher level per annum (full time equivalent, which paid pro-rata to the reduced weeks and hours worked). Once qualified at NVQ level, SEN points are also paid.

Overtime is paid for additional hours worked.

Our term dates are in line with other Gloucestershire schools allowing you 13 weeks leave in the academic holidays and a shorter working day (great for those with their own children to consider).

Professional development is important to us and training is provided including becoming a Qualified teaching assistant (NVQ L3) or even the opportunity to work towards a teaching qualification. Some of the schools Teachers began working at Hartmore as Teaching Assistants.

If you feel that this is the opportunity for you and are interested in finding out more about our service and our school, please apply with a CV or contact the Head Teacher, Harry Howells at Hartmore School via the number in the contact details for an informal conversation or please email your CV by clicking on Apply Now.
