Job description
Are you an innovative and creative education professional inspired to use your skills to support people with complex physical and learning disabilities? Join the highly-respected team of Personal Learning Co-ordinators (PLCs) at National Star.
It will be your job to coordinate learning programmes, working with and delivering learning to a group of learners with a range of disabilities. Using your skills in planning and setting targets, you will be monitoring, recording and optimising the progress of learners.
A large part of your role will involve liaising with other staff, external professionals and students’ parents so it goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator who enjoys networking. You need to have excellent interpersonal skills; be proactive, creative, and forward thinking. Multi-disciplinary work will be critical in your role so that you can ensure our students maximise their learning, boosting their independence and wellbeing to prepare them for life after college.
To step into this role, you will have experience of working with people with moderate learning difficulties, severe and multiple learning difficulties and /or Autistic Spectrum Condition. You will also need a relevant level 3 or 4 professional qualification and a teaching qualification at Diploma level. We will consider applications of people who are willing to work towards a full teaching qualification / Level 5 Diploma (or undertake this once in post). The salary would be adjusted accordingly.
This post is advertised for a full-time position however part time could be considered (minimum 4 days).
