Gloucestershire Professional Services (GPS) is recruiting for a Student Mentor to join the Student Support team department at Gloucestershire College.Are you passionate about helping others reach their full potential? This part-time Student Mentor role offers a rewarding opportunity for someone who is looking to transition into the education sector. Whether you're coming from a mentoring, support, community work, or coaching background, your people-focused skills and ability to motivate and guide others will be highly valued here.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with learners to co-create tailored support programmes that help them overcome barriers and stay engaged with their studies.
- Support students in building key personal development and employability skills to prepare for meaningful progression—whether into further study, training, or employment.
- Deliver engaging one-to-one mentoring and group sessions that foster motivation, wellbeing, and a positive mindset.
- Collaborate with academic and support colleagues to ensure each learner receives consistent, coordinated support across their college journey.
- Refer students to appropriate internal and external services when additional support is needed.
You’ll be part of a passionate, multi-disciplinary team that includes Mentors, Careers Advisers, Student Services, Employability Coaches, and Enrichment Coordinators—working together to create an exceptional and inspiring experience for every student.
This role is based across our Gloucester, Cheltenham and Forest of Dean campuses, with flexible and hybrid working available to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance while delivering outstanding support.
