*Tutors (Qualified Teachers) - £31 - £45 per hour* - Equal Education

ROLE: 1-TO-1 TUTOR (QUALIFIED TEACHER)

SUBJECT: CORE SUBJECTS (ENGLISH, MATHS, SCIENCE, BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE) AT KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE/Functional Skills

LOCATION: GLOUCESTER (FACE-TO-FACE TUITION) - Including Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury, Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Stroud.

We are seeking qualified teachers who share our values and who are motivated by a strong desire to make an impact in the lives of those whose current needs are not being met by the education system. Skills and Experience

Essential:

(please note, due to our safer recruitment policies we will only consider applicants who have the following)

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching core subjects at KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE/Functional Skills level
- Available during school hours and/or after school
- Available for face-to-face tuition (not online) in the stated location
- Experience working with Children Looked After and/or with SEND
- Valid Enhanced DBS check for working with children
- Fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Excellent in your communication, timekeeping, reliability, and reporting

Desirable:

]- Knowledge of British Sign Language
- Knowledge of positive behaviour strategies and experience in supporting children to self-regulate emotions
- Understanding of working with vulnerable young people with a range of needs and communication styles
- Ability to tailor provision based on information provided in documentation e.g Education Health and Care Plan
- Experience with mentoring

Safeguarding

Equal Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect our tutors to share this commitment. All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures as outlined in Part 3 of Keeping Children Safe in education 2022, this includes a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced with barred list information check.

This position is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended 2013). Therefore, applicants will be asked to disclose any criminal history if they are shortlisted for interview.

We strongly encourage tutors to be signed up to the DBS Update Service, and this will be a requirement for all our tutors by the end of the 2022-2023 academic year. We require all DBS certificates to be dated within the past 12 months at the point a tutor is allocated to a student.
