Higher Level Teaching Assistant (The Chase) - REQ001264

Stroud Campus

FTE Salary:  up to £26,970.00 (Salary is dependent on level of qualification and experience)    
Actual salary: Up to £24,004.71

Contract Type: Permanent, Term-Time only

Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

SGS College have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at the CHASE.

The CHASE is a Specialist SEND provision at our Stroud campus which supports young people from 16-24.  The provision is based around developing skills for preparing for adulthood and improving skills for employment and supported living. We are currently looking to appoint a higher-level teaching assistant to support these learners and to plan and deliver intervention lessons to small groups of learners.  The successful candidate will be passionate about working with SEND learners, adaptable and creative in their delivery. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

 Planning and delivering interventions to wide variety of SEND learners in small groups under the direction of the Provision Lead.  
 Ability to progress learning in a range of classroom settings, including working with individuals, small groups and whole classes where the assigned teacher is not present. 
 Ability to differentiate and plan accordingly - Develop and prepare resources for intervention in accordance with lesson plans and in response to learner need. 
 Ensure all EHCP contributions and departmental records are up-to-date 
 Liaise with professionals or specialist support staff, including social workers, health visitors, language support staff, speech therapists, educational therapists, educational psychologists and physiotherapists. 

 Assist tutors with supporting learners in class 
 

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

 HLTA Qualification or willing to work towards one
 Experience of supporting and SEND learners 
 Experience of leading intervention groups 
 Functional skills English and maths at level two 
 Good awareness of digital technology
