SUMMARY

The Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum are looking for enthusiastic Trustees to join our Board supporting the Arboretum to connect people with trees.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Good governance is fundamental to our success. Trustees are responsible for our direction, policy, key strategies, budget, staffing and measuring performance. This voluntary role involves working closely with Forestry England to preserve, enhance and develop the unique landscape of Westonbirt. The charity plays a significant role in fundraising and income generation to provide grants to Forestry England. We strive to inspire people through education, participation and conservation.

Trustees attend 5 Board meetings per year with possible attendance at other panel meetings. You will need to be able to think creatively, work effectively as a member of a team and show good independent judgement with a willingness to speak your mind. Training will be provided.

ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM
The Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum (FoWA). Established in 1985 by a small group of enthusiasts with a desire to work closely with Forestry England to help preserve, enhance, and develop this unique landscape by raising funds from our membership scheme. Today we have grown to become an organisation with an income in excess of £1.7m per annum that employs 23 members of staff and serves more than 36,000 members.
