Kingsway Primary School is seeking to appoint an Inclusion Lead (Assistant Headteacher) to join our highly-respected and influential school. We are widely considered to be an inspiring, motivating setting that provides excellent professional opportunities within and beyond the school. It has been these experiences that have seen the successful appointment of both the current Deputy Headteacher and previous Assistant Headteacher to permanent Headteacher positions in the two years since our highly successful Ofsted.
We are seeking to appoint a capable professional with experience in leading Special Educational Needs and Inclusion across the school. The right candidate will be excited about working in a truly progressive school with an outstanding reputation for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and in working with a Headteacher and leadership team who seek to provide an exceptional educational experience for every child.
The IAHT will build on the excellent practice that currently exists and will have the ability to further shape and develop the school’s provision for the future as well as making a significant difference to children’s lives in the present. This exciting role will enable the successful candidate work in collaboration with others beyond the school at a very exciting time for SEND and Inclusion nationally.
The Inclusion Assistant Headteacher is central to the school’s success. As such, the role is non-class-based, gains support from a SEND Assistant, with genuine leadership autonomy and enhancement.

We are looking for someone who:
• Has Qualified Teacher Status.
• Has achieved the SENDCo Qualification
• Has a detailed understanding of the Code of Practice
• Is committed to the school’s vision and values as well as the Cultural Blueprint
• Can demonstrably improve standards and the achievement of pupils through excellent
teaching.
• Has experience in leading SEND and a track record of making a difference to pupil progress
and outcomes.
• Has a rich understanding of pedagogy and primary practice
• Is well-organised and effective when engaging external agencies
• Has the leadership and interpersonal skills required to inspire a motivated and
professional staff team.
• Is an excellent ambassador, able to promote positive partnerships with all stakeholders.
• Someone who puts safeguarding and child protection first.
