Nursery Manager

Nursery Manager required to work at our busy and growing nursery site at The Rosary School, Stroud, GL5 4AB
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in early childhood education. This role involves managing staff, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.
Duties:
- Lead and manage the nursery team, providing guidance and support to staff members.
- Develop and implement educational programmes that cater to the developmental needs of children.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of care and education.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
- Organise daily activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Monitor the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, implementing necessary health and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and incidents as required.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the nursery's reputation within the community.
We are looking for someone with the following skills and attributes:
- Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years or higher
- Management/Leadership experience
- The capability to use initiative and inspire others
- Ability to support members of your team and to train new staff and apprentices
- Ability to create an effective and safe learning environment
- Knowledge and experience of Ofsted inspections
- Thorough knowledge and understanding for the EYFS and CoEL
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of SEND
- Thorough understanding of planning and child’s development
- At least 5 years’ experience in an early years setting
Desirable attributes for this role:
- A willingness to learn and undertake training necessary to support the role and the staff teams
- SENCo trained
- DSL trained
- First Aid trained
- Food Hygiene trained
Type of Vacancy:
Full-Time 47.5 hours (Monday-Friday) term time only using The Rosary School's term dates starting from September 2025
Hours of Work: 8am to 6pm five days days a week
About the nursery:
BarBar is an established small nursery group with three settings in Gloucestershire and have been helping families with their childcare needs for approximately 20 years. This Stroud nursery, based in the heart of the area, has been open the longest for around 20 years, is currently a 24 place nursery setting with places for toddlers and pre-schoolers. The strong and well established team work well together to strive to provide quality care for all its children and families.
