HR Assistant
Cheltenham
Responsible To: HR Manager
Responsible For: HR Admin and Payroll Support
Full Time/ Part Time: Full or Part-time considered. Please note that the majority of this role is office based, with some flexibility for home working/hybrid working once probation is passed.
Role Overview
Astor-Bannerman manufactures, supplies, installs and services specialist bathing and lifting systems for
the disabled and elderly people and their families and carers. We have a 30 year track record as a

The HR Admin Assistant role is a part time role provides support to both the HR Manager and the
Finance team in respect of all HR and payroll administration involved in the day to day running of the
company.
Main functions and responsibilities
- HR Administration support for all elements of the employee lifecycle
- Payroll Administration Duties to support the Finance team.
Key Duties
- Administration of staff records and HR files
- Work alongside the HR Manager and support with all employment issues
- Processing new starters and leavers
- Involvement in preparing staff contracts, job descriptions, HR policies and forms
- Support the learning and development of staff
- Tracking and recording of staff absence, including sickness, holidays etc
- Liaising with the finance team and the external payroll provider as necessary
- Manage all right to work checks and status
- Assist in the administration of the appraisal process
- Apply for and monitor progress of DBS checks
- Managing sensitive and confidential information
- Providing assistance to project to incorporate HR into SAP Business One system
- Any other ad-hoc duties as and when required
The Person
- Previous experience within a HR Administration Role
- CIPD qualification desirable but not essential
- Strong IT Skills and can pick up systems well
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Flexible and hard working
- Warm, friendly and approachable manner
- Ability to exercise discretion and integrity at all times
- Ability to build and maintain excellent and credible relationships with staff at all levels
