Description 

Gloucestershire Constabulary are recruiting a Mobile Technology Engineer who is highly motivated and proactive individual and is able to support the Mobile Technology Team by providing 2nd line technical support across the Constabulary.

We are looking for someone who can work well as part of a team as well as an individual. The role will strive to deliver continual improvements and enhancements for the team, whilst in tandem utilising their technical knowledge and skills to support and enhance the team’s responsible services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that supports day to day operational policing and the wider organisation. The successful candidate will report to the Mobile Technology Manager and will work closely with other teams within the organisation and external partner agencies.

This role is a fixed term contract for 12 months

Candidates must be willing to undergo the relevant security vetting for this role and will be based at HQ Waterwells.

Notice for internal candidates: this role is advertised as a fixed-term contract. In the event that you successfully interview for this role, you will accept the role on either a secondment or fixed-term contract basis.

You will only be offered a secondment subject to your current Line Manager’s approval - please note that there is no guarantee that management will agree to the secondment and there is no obligation for them to do so. It is advisable to liaise with management to see if a secondment would be supported before submitting an application.

In the event that you are offered the role as a fixed-term contract, you should be aware that you have no right to return to your previous role and will leave the force when your contract ends. In the event that you have accrued two years’ continuous service when your contract ends, you may be eligible to be added to the redeployment register, however it is not guaranteed that we will be able to offer you a suitable alternative. When accepting the role on a fixed-term basis, you take the personal risk that your employment with the force may end at the end of the contract.
