Security and Systems Engineer - JO0000026865
Filton
Belcan Workforce Solutions are seeking an Operational Technologies Security and Systems Engineer on an initial 6-month contract to join our Defence client's IT team in Filton.
The client is offering up to £36.34 per hour Umbrella, the role is Inside of IR35. This is an on-site requirement.
About the Role
Our client is a leading manufacturer in the aerospace sector, with a focus on advanced wing and component production. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced IT in OT Specialist to join their team at the Filton site. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of IT systems embedded within industrial production assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve IT-related issues at the industrial asset level.
- Plan, install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, and network equipment.
- Manage user accounts, workstations, and system security.
- Perform system updates, backups, and restorations in line with company policies.
- Support new digital projects and contribute to data flow evaluations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and manage hardware/software inventories and licenses.
- Apply cybersecurity measures including antivirus, security patches, and network segregation.
- Collaborate with production teams, maintenance staff, digital product managers, OEMs, and software vendors.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience in IT support within an industrial environment (e.g., NC, SCADA, HMI systems).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in industrial settings.
- Proficiency in installing and maintaining security software and system patches.
- Understanding of networking infrastructure and system architecture.
- Strong skills in planning, documentation, and license management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems, including legacy systems.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to undergo training in specific tools and processes.

This role involves on-site work with potential on-call duties. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting production continuity and digital transformation within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
