Job description
We’re looking for a new Senior Learning Support Worker to join our team at Ullenwood – are you up for the challenge?

Our learning support team work closely with tutors at National Star to ensure that students maximise their learning.

As a senior member of our team you will be a role model for fellow learning support staff and will be expected to share your skills and expertise with them as part of their training and development.

This role would suit a creative and highly-organised individual who can help produce learning resources for teaching sessions. By the very nature of the students that learn with us at National Star this work will be highly varied – sensory story making one day, worksheets the next!

The learner support needs for individual students will be very different and we’ll be looking to you to develop, monitor and maintain up-to-date learner support strategies so that students can make the most of their time at college.

The role will include providing some teaching cover for absences within the tutorial team both short-term and longer-term (the latter in negotiation with Learning Programmes management team to meet the priority needs of the organisation).

Capturing evidence of a student’s progress will also be part of the role and you’ll be expected to contribute to the recording of student progress and achievement (RARPA) and identify areas for development.

Current learning support team members have joined us from similar roles in a mainstream education setting or after supporting people with disabilities. What’s important to us is that you share our culture and values and are willing to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to maintain a stimulating learning environment for students.

We have 2 x roles available –  1 x Full Time

1 x 1 Year Fixed Term (Full Time)
