ESOL & English Lecturer (Adult Education)

Cirencester

Salary range: £20.66 - £27.71, Hourly Paid
Contract:  Permanent, Variable Hours
Required: Immediate start available

Cirencester College is seeking a dedicated and motivated ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and English Lecturer to join our dynamic team within the Adult Education department. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality English courses across various levels, including both daytime and evening classes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our adult provision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct engaging and effective teaching sessions aligned with the ESOL or Functional Skills English curriculum.
• Monitor, assess, and report student progress to support their learning journey.
• Maintain accurate student records and registers.
• Develop course materials and activities that facilitate student learning and comprehension.
• Collaborate with external agencies to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
• Keep up to date with advancements in the field of ESOL and Functional Skills English.
• Participate in quality assurance processes to continually enhance course effectiveness.
• Potentially teach and develop business English classes.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Qualified to teach English (e.g., CELTA, DTLLS, PCET, PGCE or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education, or demonstrate a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job).
• Experience in teaching ESOL and/or Functional skills courses to diverse student groups.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
