Technical Instructor (Digital Support/ Cyber T Levels)

Cirencester

Salary: £27,749 - £29,543 pro rata
(Salary dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent, Term Time Only (38 weeks)
Required: Immediate start available

Cirencester College is at the forefront in delivery of new T level qualifications in Digital Support Services and Cyber Security.  We are looking for an adaptable individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to join the dedicated teaching team, to provide technical support in addition to the capacity to instruct and train students in practical aspects of their curriculum.  This enhanced technician position is ideally suited to someone who has excellent technical skills, and would like to be more involved with some aspects of instruction in the workshop and classroom.  The role is particularly exciting as we have just introduced the new Cyber Security course which will be run in our purpose built sandbox environments in the Digital building at the college.

The successful applicant will be expected to:
• Provide outstanding support for lecturers to facilitate effective teaching and learning
• Manage the upkeep and maintenance of stock and equipment, ordering items as appropriate and maintain the tech lab.
• Work closely with students to support their progress, including facilitating instruction and supervision in the workshop and classroom
• Become involved in enrichment for students and / or adults by supporting or running workshops.
• Carry out practical demonstrations and training with pen testing, active directory and remote installation of operating systems / PC build and repair.

Candidates should have a commitment to further education and be motivated to achieve high standards.  Enthusiasm and the ability to truly work as a team player are essential.  The post holder will be expected to demonstrate outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills.  Ideally candidates should possess Digital/IT or Cyber qualifications or a background in PC maintenance / installation / Networking and repair, preferably with an interest in interest in Cyber.
