FE Lecturer - Equine Yard Tutor


Gloucester

Fixed Term until 31st August 2027

About the Role

  • You will be expected to plan and deliver exceptional teaching which will assist students to achieve excellent results, on Level 3 Equine courses;
  • You will inspire students to appreciate and enjoy Equine Management instilling in them a passion for the subject and a desire to develop their understanding.
  • You will be required to have experience in delivering practical Equine Husbandry skills and specialisms in Equitation and Stable Management.
  • You will be a yard tutor, teaching and training students during their morning (starting at 7am) Equine Husbandry sessions, including pastoral support. 
  • You will be responsible for developing barn supervisors and the administration of Equine Husbandry.
  • You will be responsible for the undertaking of assessments, marking and monitoring learner progress. This will include setting targets and grading learners’ performance.

About You

  • You will be willing to complete a teaching qualification, if not already qualified
  • You will have a degree or equivalent in relevant subject area
  • Ideally, you will hold a minimum qualification of BHS Stage 3 Coach / BHSAI or equivalent
  • Experience of working on a busy yard and maintaining high standards of horse care and welfare
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality teaching sessions

Salary: £25,305 - £44,227 per annum (Dependent on qualifications & experience)
