Head of Finance
Gloucester
Role Purpose
The Head of Finance provides a strategic business partnership to the Managing Director and Executive Team. Leading a small team of finance professionals, the Head of Finance has a total business approach working collaboratively throughout the business influencing strategy in order to meet growth objectives and enhance the businesses financial performance. Norville's Head of Finance is responsible for all accounting functions ensuring that all statutory policies and company procedures are implemented and followed enabling sound financial management and control.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with the Managing Director and Executive Team
- Leads, mentors and develops Norville's finance team
- Oversees the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations
- Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and policies to support the overall goals of the organisation
- Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on financial performance
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making at both strategic and operational levels
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial performance
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to finance
Skills:
- Strong financial management skills with a deep understanding of financial services and accounting principles
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Is able to see the bigger picture
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team and the wider business
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in using financial software and tools
Requirements:
- Ideally CIMA qualified with bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
- Proven experience as a Finance lead or similar role overseeing the overall finance function. ·
- In depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, bookkeeping and application of accounting standards.
- Demonstrable experience managing annual audit
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis ·
- Previous experience of Payroll management
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solving and strategic ability.
- Ability to consume complex information and translate and use to develop ideas and solutions.
- High level of competency with numerical and financial information
