Salary: ‘Technican 2’ Range: £24,434 - £25,847 FTE

(Salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract: 0.5, Permanent, Term Time Only

Required: 25th August 2026

We are looking for an adaptable individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to join the dedicated teaching team in Biology and Chemistry, to provide technical support in addition to the capacity to instruct and train students in practical aspects of their curriculum.  This enhanced technician position is ideally suited to someone who has excellent technical skills, and is also happy to engage with students in the classroom when they are undertaking practical work, or to support students with ‘catch up’

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Provide outstanding support for lecturers to facilitate effective teaching and learning
  • Manage the upkeep and maintenance of stock and equipment, ordering items as appropriate and maintain the tech lab.
  • Work closely with students to support their progress, including facilitating instruction and supervision in the workshop and classroom
  • Become involved in enrichment for students and / or adults by supporting or running workshops.
  • Carry out practical demonstrations and training
  • Take ownership of health and safety processes and risk assessments in the workshop
  • Candidates should have a commitment to providing high quality learning to enable all learners to achieve their full potential. 
  • Candidates should have a commitment to further education and be motivated to achieve high standards.  Enthusiasm and the ability to truly work as a team player are essential.  The post holder will be expected to demonstrate outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills.  Ideally candidates should possess Biology / Chemistry qualifications or a background from any part of the STEM sector.
