Peer Support Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the South West, Wessex and Channel Islands service delivery team to support our exciting work in Gloucestershire. You will bring experience and understanding of the meaningful involvement of lived experience, working to address health inequities, using a data driven approach to prioritisation and focus of work.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Coach for the South West and Channel Islands, the Peer Support Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the involvement of people affected by stroke to prioritise our work and improve the experience of people affected by stroke
• Development of peer support groups across Gloucestershire
• Working with health care professionals, including clinicians, managers and leads
• Managing volunteers
• Build stroke communities to enable stroke survivors and their carers to rebuild their lives after stroke

This role requires travel across Gloucestershire as well as occasional travel across the South West locality. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role
