Special Educational Needs Teacher - SENDTeacherBer

Berkeley

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with a strong commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Teacher to join our dynamic team to help enrich the lives of students with additional needs and in particular work within a school in Berkeley. The role involves working with a KS3 class who are currently working at a Primary level, and would be full-time until the end of the academic year. The required candidate can be Primary or Secondary trained, but must have Qualified Teacher Status.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with a range of SEND.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop and implement IEPs and EHCPs for students with SEND, regularly reviewing and updating as necessary networking with professional bodies when time to complete EHCP reviews.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and partnership.
- Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and inspire students with SEND, promoting a love for learning.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant SEND experience.
- Knowledge of various learning difficulties and disabilities, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
- Familiarity with the latest SEND legislation and best practices.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Commitment to professional development and staying current with educational trends.
