About the role
As a teacher you will have experience of planning and delivering high quality and stimulating learning to most appropriately meet the requirements of small groups of young people with Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD) such as Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Multi-Sensory Impairments and/ or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
Typically, the learners you would be teaching are learning at an Early Years to early key stage 1 level, although you will be expected to teach across different levels. We can train you in some of these skills and have successfully recruited qualified teachers or SEN support staff working towards a teaching qualification in the past from within a specialised SEN setting or primary setting with an understanding of SEN provision.
Multi-disciplinary work will be critical in your role so that you can ensure students maximise their learning, boosting their independence and wellbeing to prepare them for life after college. A large part of your role will involve liaising with internal colleagues, external professionals and students’ families, as well as monitoring, recording and optimising the progress of learners.
It goes without saying that you will be a first-class communicator, who is creative, proactive and forward-thinking with excellent organisational skills.
We have a range of full time, part time and fixed term contracts available this academic year and as we plan for our September recruitment. Please let us know your requirements and availability in your application.
