Grade – NJC grade 5 £18,768 to £19,700 (FTE £28,142 to £30,024)
Hours – 28.75 hours per week (M-F, 8.30am-3.15pm)
Contract – Fixed term during child’s time on roll: roll linked to funding
Start date – 1 st September 2026
Lakeside Primary School is a large and busy primary school in Up Hatherley. The newly created post
of full time SEND Teaching Partner will predominantly support a child joining Reception in autumn,
2026. The role is fixed term because it is linked to funding, though it is anticipated the pupil will
remain at Lakeside through to the end of key stage 2.

The Impact You'll Make
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Partner to predominantly provide
1:1 support for a bright, determined child with a physical condition. In additional to general SEND
support, the role will be pivotal in helping them access the curriculum, participate fully in school life,
and develop independence and confidence. You will be a trusted ally, motivator, and
advocate—helping them achieve their personal goals and enjoy every moment of their school
journey.

What You'll Do
Provide general SEND support in classes, small groups and with individual pupils
Provide tailored 1:1 support in lessons, adapting activities to meet a child’s physical and learning needs.
Assist with mobility, positioning, and the safe use of specialist equipment (e.g., standing frames, adapted seating).
Support with personal care routines in a respectful and dignified way.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals such as the advisory teaching service, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
Encourage social interaction and inclusion with peers during lessons and playtimes.
Monitor progress and contribute to My Plan reviews.
What You'll Bring
Experience with SEND provision
Experience supporting children with physical disabilities or complex needs (in education, care, or community settings).
A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
Understanding of inclusive education and differentiated learning strategies.
Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g., manual handling, personal care, medical awareness).
Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
