Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in the Forest of Dean?

Class People are currently recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work with schools across the Forest of Dean. We are looking for patient, reliable and confident education professionals who have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who wants to use their skills to make a real difference to pupils while working within a supportive school environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and get the most from their time at school.

Depending on the individual role, you may provide 1:1 support, work with small groups or provide wider classroom assistance alongside the class teacher and SEN team.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
• Supporting children to access the curriculum and classroom activities
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and communication skills
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Assisting with targeted learning activities and interventions
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other school staff
• Following individual support plans and contributing to pupil progress
• Creating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

About You

We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced Teaching Assistants who have a strong understanding of SEN and are confident supporting pupils with additional needs.

Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, complex needs or challenging behaviour would be advantageous.

You should be:

• An experienced Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant
• Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis
• Patient, calm and consistent
• Understanding of different learning and communication needs
• Able to build strong relationships with children
• A good communicator and team player
• Reliable and professional
• Passionate about supporting children to reach their potential
