Our school is a highly rewarding place to work with passionate, dedicated staff, who seek to provide the very best experiences for every child. We welcome candidates who share this like-minded vision and want to offer pupils a ‘GREAT’ education. Slimbridge Primary School is growing and with this, so is the need for staff who understand pupils with SEND … this is an exciting time to join us. So, if you are a teacher who is new to the role of SENDCo then we can provide support to help you facilitate your role. Given the high-profile nature of SEND and our dedication to supporting children with specific learning needs, your role will be pivotal in school and involve non-classroom-based support of our staff team such as applying for EHCP’s, conducting reviews and organising visiting professionals to school.

We are looking to recruit a capable and committed teacher to work with high needs pupils with EHCPs across all age ranges throughout the school, the candidate must be able to work with pupils who demonstrate challenging behaviours through reception to year six and be able to support staff in managing these pupils and providing them with the nurture, kindness and creative curriculum that they deserve. The successful candidate will be able to respond effectively to the needs of young people with SEN and assist their learning and development, showing patience and a depth of understanding of children who learn in unique and individual ways. They will have high ambitions and set stretching targets, ensuring that the children with SEN get the precise support they need.

This post will suit candidates who are passionate about SEND and inclusion and who are flexible, creative, caring and committed to providing the best learning opportunities for all. This candidate will be flexible and hardworking and be able to work with parents and teachers, ensuring statutory assessments are put in place as well as reviews conducted of My Plans. In addition to this, the candidate will be a skilled teacher who is prepared to model lessons to others and will also have a teaching commitment in school. We are looking for teachers who particularly have specialisms in PE and/or music.

We can offer you:

• a happy, family atmosphere
• experienced and committed colleagues who support and value every professional in the school
• professional development to support your career development
• direct support from an experienced SENCo
• an exceptional learning environment in which to work
• wonderful children who love to learn and thrive from exciting opportunities
• the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children who need a great teacher and want to learn
