Experienced Year 6 Teacher Wanted in Gloucester

Class People are looking for an experienced and dedicated Year 6 Teacher in Gloucester for a role with full teaching responsibility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident primary teacher who understands the demands of Year 6 and can support pupils through their final year of primary school. You'll take ownership of planning, preparation, teaching and assessment, helping pupils achieve their potential and prepare for their transition to secondary school.

We're particularly interested in teachers with experience of SATs preparation, curriculum delivery and tracking pupil progress, alongside the ability to create a positive classroom environment where pupils feel supported, challenged and motivated to succeed.

About the Role

As the Year 6 Teacher, you will:

Take full teaching responsibility for a Year 6 class

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum

Prepare pupils for their end-of-Key-Stage-2 SATs

Assess and monitor pupil progress, identifying gaps in learning

Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs

Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement

Support pupils' confidence, resilience and independence

Prepare pupils for a successful transition to secondary school

Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and school leadership

Take responsibility for the progress and attainment of your class

We're looking for someone who can balance high academic expectations with an understanding of the pastoral needs of Year 6 pupils.

The ideal candidate will be:

An experienced primary teacher confident in teaching Year 6

Knowledgeable about KS2 SATs preparation and assessment

Confident with planning, assessment and tracking pupil progress

Strong in classroom and behaviour management

Able to adapt teaching to support pupils of different abilities

Organised, proactive and committed to high standards

A positive team player who builds strong relationships with pupils and colleagues

QTS is required, alongside recent primary teaching experience. Previous Year 6 teaching experience is essential for this opportunity.
