Edward Elgar Publishing is an award-winning global independent academic and
professional publisher with a strong focus on the social sciences and legal fields. We
publish 600+ book and journal titles annually and have successfully created a
prestigious list of over 10,000 titles.

As Metadata Coordinator based in our Cheltenham office, you will report to the Head
of Sales and will be responsible for the bibliographic information of all our book titles
using our Filemaker database. This information is crucial to the business as it’s
disseminated to all our partners and used to populate our website and eBook/journal
platform.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Managing our Titles database – adding new book titles, modifying all the book information during the whole publishing process – adding prices, descriptions, author details, endorsements. Adhering to inhouse style.
  • Working closely with internal editors to get the required information.
  • Proofing book covers.
  • Adding authors and editors to our Contacts database.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Have examples of exemplary time management, and balancing multiple tasks at once
  • Have the flexibility to accommodate peaks in workload and manage multiple demands and deadlines effectively
  • Experience in publishing and or databases would be an advantage but is not essential.
