About the Team and Role
Are you looking for an exciting new challenge working on exciting highway projects within the Local Major Projects Team?
You will make a difference as an Apprentice Assistant Project Manager supporting on the development, planning and delivery of some of the most ambitious schemes the County has ever delivered. Leading the way in revitalising and delivering transport and infrastructure schemes around known and planned housing growth, working in partnership with central government, external agencies and district councils.
We are committed to investing in your development and operate flexible ways of working, so you may be working in our Shirehall office in the heart of the City Centre, meeting partners anywhere within the region, working on your laptop in one of our staff cafes or working from home.
The work will be intense and fast paced; we will expect you to think on your feet and be ready to tackle challenges to grow the County’s vision.
About You
We are looking for those who will quickly understand the Gloucestershire context and can display their expertise and a can do attitude to achieve ambitious targets.
Inter personal skills and being a team player will be fundamental as will first class communication skills. A resilient, can do attitude is vital as well as the flexibility to deal with a varied workload. Whilst it may be beneficial to have project management, local authority or civil engineering experience, you must also have the skills to work across varied disciplines such as public liaison, legal, property and communications.
This post requires Level 3 or equivalent qualifications (A-Level, Diploma, BTEC). The Apprenticeship will include a two year level 4 Project Management qualification and the two year apprenticeship incorporates formal training alongside more informal on the job learning.
The work will be intense and fast paced; we will expect you to think on your feet and be ready to tackle challenges to grow the County’s vision.
